    Sly's Training (Part 1) [PRIVATE - Sly + Minea]

Post by sLy on Mon Feb 01, 2016 4:39 pm

A clear day over the busy city. The skies, still a tug of war between the dark blue of the night against the rising orange and pink of the sun, a vain attempt as morning would rise. He arrived early, leaning against the rails that bordered the roof. It would be a very nasty drop, people below no bigger than a point if one were to stab a pen on paper. At this time, there were hardly any of them walking about, hardly anyone to notice anyone falling off and lay splayed on the road.

But enough of that. Sly was here for one thing only. Someone, under the name of Minea, accepted to be trained by him. He had a schedule ready on what they would be doing today. Nothing too time consuming. Sly would definitely be fighting this special someone, and would be testing how skilled she was in her weapons. The morning chills bit deep into his hands that he had to slip them into his pockets for warmth. With every breath, a fine mist would cloud his vision as he kept an eye on the stairway door, should she ever pop up from it.

He could not determine how strong Minea really was until he could test her grit. And who knows? If she managed to surprise him, he could be eager to give her special training that would greatly reward her with a rare item.

    And so the waiting begins…

(NOTE: The purpose of the training is not only to test how well Minea fights, but also to train you on your combat RP skills. Just a quick heads up.)

Re: Sly's Training (Part 1) [PRIVATE - Sly + Minea]

Post by Minea on Fri Feb 05, 2016 12:32 pm

Minea walked into a building where she was supposed to meet with someone named Sly. She decided to train with him because she was always training and just trying to get better at fighting in general, and she thought that having someone to train her might be a good way to learn some new skills. She wasn't a big fan of people or working with them, but she could only get so far by herself. She knew that training was practically all she did nowadays, possibly enough to be called more of a career than a hobby, but she was okay with that. She didn't really have much of anything else to do here and staying here was defiantly better than the alternative. It may not help her at all when the end does eventually come, but at least it prevents a lot of needless sorrow to be weaved into the lives of so many that she crossed paths with.

She began to wonder if this was really a good idea at all? What if by allowing herself to associate with people and be in a populated place for a long amount of time, she would end up causing something horrible to happen? What if by training with this person, she gained an attachment to them and then had to live with brutally murdering them? Could she live with herself if they showed up as a ghost by the curse and showed her their last moments where they desperately tried to save her and believed her until the bitter end just to be heartlessly betrayed? Could she look at their face and see their once kind, happy, and encouraging eyes turned cold and distant with a fiery rage for revenge?

She sighed and pushed away all of her thoughts, or at least tried to. She had lived through situations just like those in her nightmares and in the visions she was forced to live though when Korosu took the reins or when the organization did one of their tests. She knew that it probably wouldn't happen as the likelihood of her actually not hating the person who would train her was very low, but she still couldn't help but worry. She had no doubt that something horrible might happen whether it was related to her warming up to this Sly guy or not, as it always seemed like they did, but regardless she stayed to her commitment and walked through the door. She didn't want him to see any of her inner turmoil so she walked in as she normally would: strong and annoyed with a hatred for people in general.

He breathed in and out, playing with the fine mist. Perhaps coming at this time was too early, so much more than expected. Exhaustion from waiting was settling in and he had nothing else to do up here than to practice with his pocketwatch. But he already decided against that, knowing the amount of stress it would place on him when he needed his strength to train Minea.

This was Sly’s first time, putting himself out there as a mentor for those who wanted to become strong. He did think about charging with currency, but decided to see how the first few training sessions went. At least he came with a plan on how he would go about his lessons. Minea was as much of a mystery as the uncharted lands. He could not find anything about her on top of her feats. Sly cycled through the list of names in his memory, anyone beyond Dragonstorm, within Shadows Raiders, the Government. Anything. So far he was drawing blanks. Perhaps Minea was another ordinary citizen hoping to become a bounty hunter, a gladiator or even an outlaw. It was too soon to make any judgements.

The door rattled and banged, then swung open to reveal a blonde girl. She was rather young, her hair immediately carried in the wind after stepping outside. Her eyes were brown when she spun to turn to Sly, giving him a rather deep scowl like he kept her waiting for too long. Sly smirked. Seeing past that stoic expression was years of experience with fighting. Perhaps she killed a man before, fought in wars, even committed mass murders. Either way, he did not care how she used what she would learn up here. What mattered to Sly at this point was the easiness of teaching someone already well taught in using a weapon, either a sword, first or mind.

I take it you are Minea, Sly pushed his elbows against the rails and walked towards her, hands still in pocket. Perhaps you have figured out by now that we are meeting on top of a petty criminal organisation’s headquarters. And before you make any guesses, no I am not the ring leader or the boss you have to fight in the end. Actually they never had a boss. The best weapon they have is a pistol. Seeing you up here without a scratch tells me you passed the first test. Sly stopped 15metres from Minea before drawing both his hands out. His pocketwatch responded, spilling gears and other pieces along 2 separate streams, each going to both his hands and forming a marble on his palms. My name is Sly. And I will be your trainer. But before we begin, why not tell me a bit more about yourself?

As soon as she walked into the room Sly approached her and began talking. She couldn't help but notice gears flows to the palms of his hands and make marbles on his palms. If that was his power it was definitely an interesting one, and she couldn't help but wonder how he would use it to fight. When she heard his questions she crossed her arms and thought for a second on how she should reply. "I'm simply someone who loves training and who generally doesn't like people, but none of that matters anyway." She thought she would unveil her weapon to him and drew her sword. "I came here to train, not to make friends. So if we could skip all of the small talk and get strait to business then that would be very much appreciated." She decided to set her sword on fire to give her statement a little more flare and to show him that her sword was no ordinary sword.

She really hoped that she wasn't going to end up wasting her time by signing up to train with some guy that was at or below her level. She really did hope to get something out of this. She couldn't really make any judgments based off of what she's seen so far, but for nice in her life she was optimistic. You could tell in the way that he walked, moved, and talked that he had some experience in fighting and you could tell from his eyes that he had already taken somebody's life. If she had to make any assumptions from that it would be that he wasn't some overly confident newcomer who already thought he was strong enough to teach someone else. She found herself looking foreword for what was to come. After all, he wasn't some super annoying dim-wit. he seemed to understand a few things about battle and what it ment.

Skipping the formalities are we? Sly pulled a corner of his lip back. This was something he somewhat hoped, having to skip all the fancy introductions and getting straight to the point. There was no reason for either one of them to get to know each other better despite asking for it. Sly could even say Minea had picked the right answer. In his mind, he wandered how he should proceed the training. The first step was testing how fluent she was in the basics of attacking. Should he create structures for her to practice against, or should he volunteer and test her himself? Normally he would evaluate his opponent’s strengths by making them fight some structures, but considered it rude and inappropriate. This was a sparring match after all, as part of the training, and Minea could be expecting to fight him directly.

Closing his eyes and taking a deep breath, he squeezed both marbles. They snapped and clicked, the marbles thinning and expanding from his grip to form two long rods. Anyone could see how the gears spun around the ends and slid and clicked into place in a split second. The structures completed themselves by expanding and spinning around Sly’s grips, forming sophisticated but simple guards. Altogether, they both turned into clockwork rapiers of gold and silver, the gears continuing to spin like those of ticking timers.

First part of the lesson is attacking. Let me see what you can do. Sly shifted into his battle stance, though it was casual. His legs were rather close to each other, one foot forward, and he pointed his right rapier towards Minea, its pommel close to his leg. The other rapier pointed to the ground on his left. Although his pose was too calm and could be perceived as underestimating her, his focus was not as relaxed. His senses and focus were lit, looking and studying any movements she would make and planning his response quickly. They were still 15metres apart, standing on a square roof 40m x 40m.

Minea was quite happy that Sly agreed to skip the formalities and get strait to business. She watched as he squeezed the marbles in his hands, causing them to change into two rapiers. She wondered what else he could make and noted to be a little cautious due to his unknown nature. he told her to attack to which she could happily agree. She was going to show this guys that she wasn't just your average Nancy. She had a lot of experience on the battlefield and had been shaped into the person she was today from those experiences. Not that she was particularly happy with who she was as a person, but she at least had confidence in her ability to fight. "I guarantee I won't disappoint. Now...let's do this thing."

She took out a throwing knife and threw it at him hoping that he would block it. This would cause a ball of fire to expand around his sword and distract him long enough for her to get behind him and slice at him with her flaming sword while he was still off-guard. She made sure to propel herself into position using her swords air attack to avoid him hearing hear footsteps if she had run into position. Also this would cause movement in the opposite direction and hopefully cause him to think she was there instead of behind him in the first few nanoseconds that his vision was no longer obstructed from the ball of fire.

Determination was definitely present. There was no way he could study her expression without having to go pass it. Yet it was not enough to earn a smirk from him. He had seen many battles, many talents and had witnessed power at their most extremes. Being a bounty hunter earned him those experiences, especially when he had to work alone and could rely on nothing else but prior knowledge. If he were starting out, the very atmosphere she was giving off would be enough to surprise him. He ensured to keep his guard up and his expression just as neutral and stern.

Sly watched Minea move her hand to reach a knife. That one was quite obvious. Judging by their distance, and that she had one knife against two rapiers, she was going to throw it. Sly jumped a bit on his spot, exercising his legs almost like how tennis players would when their opponents were about to serve. When the knife was thrown, Sly responded with a careful thrust with his front rapier. The tip of his blade crossed the knife’s, and the two slid across each other. With a quick snapping motion, Sly flung the knife aside, to the right, and brought his left rapier forward to point towards Minea. Behind him the knife whirled in the air. Nice try, he snuck in. Instead of a clatter, the knife exploded, and a heavy gust pushed him.

Minea flew across the roof, circling around Sly with a ready sword of flames. Sly turned a bit to face her at the start of her move, but stopped and let his eyes follow. She was going to slash his back it seemed. Sly swung his left rapier just as Minea swung her blade. When the gentle time of two blades scraping each other was heard, he took the split second to flick her blade around and off to the side, towards Sly’s far left. This also made him spin his body around to face Minea, as his right foot stepped into position, his left spinning and ruffling across the roof. The rapier in his right hand coming around, sturdy and ready for anything. If Sly’s deflection was successful, he would have thrown Minea’s blade too far off to bring back to defend herself in time for Sly to thrust his right rapier, past her defence and halt with the blade tip only millimetres from her neck. It was possible the first round ended just as it began—Sly had many of those before, especially with rapiers. But Minea was definitely no beginner. Had Sly chose to block the knife, which was very unlikely with blades as narrow and thin as rapiers, this sneak attack would cause a lot of problems. Not many wielded rapiers, especially in this era, but it was just as important Minea prepare for unusual or unorthodox weapons any enemies may bring into battle.

Re: Sly's Training (Part 1) [PRIVATE - Sly + Minea]

Post by Minea on Tue Feb 16, 2016 2:50 pm

As Minea got into position she realized that her distraction was unsuccessful, but it was too late for her to pull out and make another move. She landed right behind Sly and slashed at him, only to be blocked by his rapier. Her eyebrows lowered and her teeth clenched as her first attack failed. Her sword was flung to the side and she could see that Sly was coming at her with an attack so she decided to use the kinetic energy given to her and retreated about 10 feet. She took a moment to look at her surroundings and their positions relative to them. Minea had moved father away from the door she was close to and a lot closer towards the center of the roof. Soon a plan of attack had formed in her head and she hoped that this one would A. not fail as horribly as the last one and B. make a good impression/show her new trainer her skills.

She would not have thins guy thinking any less of her than need be. She knew that she had at least some level of skill and she was not ready to let herself be easily beaten by anyone, even if that person was supposed to be her new teacher. She had not trained all of these years just to be easily knocked down like paper in the wind. She had her own standards to live up to. Even if he managed to knock her down and hit her over and over and over, she would at least make sure that she would continue fighting despite severe injuries that would inhabilitate others. After all, if all of that pain she was forced to endure time and time again didn't at least serve that purpose or to her advantage in some way, then....what would she do? Kill herself? That wasn't an option. If it was she would've been gone long before this guys grandparents were even in inkling inside their parents wombs. Thought and feelings of her situation began flooding her head, but she quickly shook them out. now was not the time to be worrying about that. Right now she had to focus on the task at hand: fighting this guy and making sure he got an appropriate first impression of her.

With a newfound determination raging within her she stared bullets at Sly, whether he could she them she didn't know, but she didn't care either. She took out five throwing knives from her pouch and threw them all away from Sly. They hit the roof around him and each caused a wall of earth to rise. Minea smirked in anticipation to see whether her plan would work or not and began to put I into action. She used her swords wind ability to fling herself towards Sly at an angle, so that she could try to get a hit on him with her flaming sword and continue on her path before he had time to make his attack. Then she landed on the earthen platform she had made for herself and did it again, this time moving onto the next platform. Her moves were rapid as each hit happened not even a second after the next. Once she had gone on all the platforms, she raised herself high in the air and caused a rain of earthen spikes to plummet to the ground and towards Sly. She landed once again 10 feet away from him and looked up to see how well her attack had gone, hopeful that this time she didn't mess things up too badly.

(Yay my post is long again! I just got lazy last time. Sorry. Also sorry if what I wrote for my attack was confusing or is still confusing in this post. BTW: as far as the throwing knives go the elemental attacks happen to the first thing they make contact with. Remember that for next time. if you don't want to get hit by one's effects then you'll have to dodge it or make something hit it first. (The exception is the air one as that functions as a homing throwing knife. It would be stupid if it didn't start chasing after it's victim until it had hit something. Another BTW: I'll probably be changing her water sword ability because the one I have now I just don't see her using now that I'm actually using them in a battle scenario. No idea what I might change it to yet, but whatever.)

A blade to her throat and she moved further from him before he could call it. Her eyes darted all over the area a bit, likely to investigate her surroundings.

Sly turned to face her, blades a the ready and the same positions as before. One out to the side and the other towards his opponent. He had already spent more than enough time looking around to notice he was on top of a building, and the nearest building from them was at least 10metres away, with a long drop in between them. The roof, more or less, had only a few noteworthy things to keep mind of, but nothing much which Sly could take advantage of. Especially against Minea. Seeing how she reacted, it was apparent that she would be a very persistent type. Fierce as well. It could be very dangerous to tinker with those flames.

He narrowed his eyes a bit when Minea drew 5 blades and tossed them towards him. Sly was ready to defend until he realized they were not aiming for him. Rather, the ground around him, and the roof started to shake. Walls of earth began to form around him, with the only way to escape it was to either climb down or run forward, but he knew he would meet Minea if he did that. The woman shot herself forward using wind magic and readied her blade out to slash as she was carried forward. Interesting? Sly flicked his forward rapier up and slashed at an angle to meet her blade, the two weapons clanging and chiming a tune that echoed across the city. Sly did not fully block her, but rather parried at an angle, in such a manner that the sword would pass over his head harmlessly. His rapier glowed from the impact and converted it to the false pieces he needed.

Just as Minea landed on another rising platform behind Sly, she jumped at him again. Sly deflected her again with the same blade, but as he turned, she was already going for another strike. He staggered a bit as he was forced to use both blades, one after the other to deflect her attacks, but he slowly got the rhythm. But she ended her 'dance' far too soon with a high jump, carrying with her spikes of earth that would point downwards and fall on him. I knew it, Sly thought. It seemed he had no choice but to use his elements to fight against Minea's. Her performance was quite outstanding but she left a lot of telltale signs on what she was about to do.

Sly created a spellcircle in the air and a blue potion bobbed out of its centre. As he brought his left rapier up to point at the spikes, it went through the glass potion and shattered it. The entire rapier turned completely silver and blue, expanding its width a bit to become something equivalent to a sidesword. After bringing it up, the sidesword 'opened' up on the bladed ends and spilled a thin film of water out and around Sly like a dome. The spikes plummeted onto the shield, causing large ripples to form like stones being thrown onto the pond, before the spikes bounced off and fall all around him.

After the last one was bounced off, Sly dissipated the shield and swung it back to his side. His right rapier, still the same as before, pointing back towards Minea. Very good, Sly said with a smirk. Never thought you would force my best defense out so early. But you left a few openings in your barrage of attacks that I could have exploit if I did not force myself to stay on the same spot.

Minea looked up to see an unharmed *Censored*. Part of her was mad that she couldn't get a hit on him, but the other part was happy that he had acknowledged her strength with his comment. She could tell that he was not one to give out phrase very easily and was probably very good at using doubled-sided complements. She returned *Censored*'s smirk to him and replied with, "I did come here for I reason didn't I? I acknowledge that I still have a lot to learn, which is why I constantly try to train and better myself. Unfortunately, you can only learn so much all by yourself, but don't take me wrong in my statement. Just because I know I can improve a lot doesn't mean that I think I'm weak. I like to pride myself on my above-average strength. After all, I couldn't live with myself if I couldn't take a group of bandits or gang members down in my sleep, and I can't afford to not hold my own in a fight with a more skilled person. And don't think that this is just the ramblings of an overconfident newbie. I have good reason to know these things."

As soon as she finished talking she prepared herself for her next attack. *Censored*'s weapon was very flexible and seemed to have many functions so it would be a lot harder to land a hit on him than it normally would. She wondered if she should try to figure out how his weapon functions before she tried to seriously end the fight. Right now all she could gather from what she's seen is that it can turn itself into many different things and may be linked to the elements in some way. She wondered exactly what he could create with that things and if he had even been showing her it's "true form" or had just been playing with her with it in some lower-level form. It was possible that he could build massive structures or a variety of different weapons. If that was true then he would have to be skilled in many different fighting styles with many different weapons. Part of her wished it was true so she could see this in action and learn from someone with such a wide variety in the way they fought, but another part of her wished she was wrong so she would have a higher likelihood of taking this guy down. She decided it was best was continue with some caution, as she did before, but not heaps of it. She would not want to bring herself at a disadvantage for overestimating her foe.

He did not attack her, which came at some surprise to her. Maybe he was just toying with her, or maybe the purpose of these was merely to see her skills instead of take her down. Perhaps he didn't have a lot of long rage attacks. If that were true, then he could easily come up to her an attack like that, but he didn't. her curiosity about this plagued her for a short time but she was able to shake it off and continue with the matter at hand. She did know for sure that she was rather skilled at melee combat, so it might be better for her to keep her distance. Now, long-distance fighting wasn't really her thing, but she wasn't the worst at it. She was much better at melee combat herself, but she made sure to get at least some skills at long-range combat. She wanted herself to be decently balanced and not be really good but only in certain conditions. You didn't always have the luxury of being in those conditions, and she couldn't afford to be overtaken easily as she said earlier.

Minea took out another throwing knife and flung it at *Censored*'s feet. It exploded as soon as it hit the ground, which she hoped would obstruct *Censored*'s vision long enough for her to get her next attack started. She changed her sword to it's water mode, which engulfed it in a thick layer of water. She swung it over to the wall she had made to the left hand side of *Censored*, causing the water surrounding the sword grow in length and hurdle toward the wall. As soon as it arrived at its destination the tip slashed across the bottom, cutting it seamlessly. She swung it once again to wrap the water whip around the wall and grab it, but this time without breaking it. She then hurdled the wall of earth towards *Censored*, letting it go at the perfect time to give it the most speed and accuracy. She knew that there was the possibility that he would doge it, so she made she sure to not throw the wall in a path that would cause it to fly at her. She repeated this cycle of throwing one of her knives at him to disorient him, then picking a wall at random to throw at him until she didn't have any walls left. She was hoping to by doing this to keep in on the defensive and overwhelm him with quick and disorienting attacks.

(*Censored*, why is your name censored?)

Overconfident? Hardly. The woman acknowledged there were certain skills she lacked, which was rather unexpected from someone coming in for basic training and sparring. Minea certainly had mastered some of the basics. Her claim to be above-average was true, shown through her attacks and technique, though a little shaky. Above-average was probably the right term for it. He was rather relieved that she did not go to extremes to beat herself for not recognizing her need to learn. Everyone had a weakness. Even Sly himself had a weakness. In battle, the important thing was not to cast your weaknesses aside, but to make sure your foes never find it.

That was what Sly had done and been doing all these years. He rewarded Minea with a quick smirk before focusing on what her next attack would be. For a long moment, they just stood where they were in complete silence. There were many walls of earth surrounding where Sly was, and they could provide some cover for him if he ever needed it. Sly squinted a bit and noticed Minea was analyzing him. Normally he would have advised against that, as opponents would not be doing the same if they were smart and attack while her attention was somewhere else. That extra split second could be all they needed to land a hit. Then again, she was fighting him, and there was no way around Sly's defence without carefully thinking an ideal strategy. He gritted his teeth, wondering if he should ever use the false pieces he had from her last series of attacks. It could become too much for her, and this was a basic sparring match. He would only pull them out if he ever needed to get out of a desperate situation. The sidesword in his left hand hummed quietly, emitting very thin glowing streams of water that circled around the blade. It was ready for further transformation, but it could be too advanced for him to focus, both on keeping the weapon together and fighting.

As for Minea, Sly took a mental note that she had the abilities to manipulate the elements. Her knives could either explode upon contact or cause walls of earth to rise up on where they touched. The sword in her hand, at one point it shot a gust of wind to propel her around the roof, and another it was covered in flames. Very interesting. It seemed Minea had a lot of techniques she could use, or potentially think of in any fight, almost similar to how Sly's pocketwatch could adapt to any scenario. Because problem he would have to face was guessing what the thrown knives would do. Explode or cause a wall of earth to rise up, probably among other things.

It was elements against elements. Not a fight Sly was particularly fond with but he knew he had to deal with it if he were to even survive against Minea's onslaught. When Minea brandished another knife, Sly lowered his pose and readied his sidesword, still out on the side, ready to block. She flung the blade, but it was off-target, instead hitting the ground near his feet. Sly brought the sidesword around and angled it against the ground, acting like a wall against the incoming explosion. His guess was correct and a ball of fire rose and expanded. Upon contact, it triggered the sidesword, the bladed edges shifting and expanding within seconds to form a rectangular wall and shielding Sly from it.

It was no doubt a distraction. Sly looked back up to Minea, her sword already turned blue and covered in water. She swung the blade around, the water extending and whipping anything in touched, except she was not using it against Sly. The water broke off one of the earth walls. With another flick, she grabbed hold of the wall and flung it at Sly.

It looked like he had to move.

Sly jumped towards the incoming wall and curled, rolling onto the ground as the wall flew over him. As he did so, both his weapons disintegrated and reformed in his hands, so as to not affect his movements. Her range attacks were strong as well. It would not be easy to fault her anywhere. Never had Sly had the luxury of a prodigy for his very first student. As he got up, the ground exploded into his face. It was from another knife. Instead of blocking it, Sly used his arms to shield himself by instinct. When it subsided, another wall of earth was coming for him.

He did not have a lot of time to think. All Sly could really do at this point was cover and dodge. After the second round, he got used to what Minea was trying to pull. The knives were only used as a distraction while her main attack was the walls. At least you do not attack once and see what happens, Sly said just as he stepped away from the knife. But they are too predictable. Try varying it! Sly barrel-rolled under the incoming wall until he reached his desired position. Relative to Minea, he was on the far left side of the roof, with the remaining walls all compacted on the right side.

Sly spun the sidesword in one hand and stabbed the blade on the roof, in between him and the incoming walls. Any walls trying to get past the blade would be knocked away by the weapon, as if it had eyes and would send a ripple of water across the air, facing the walls, every time one was about to hit. Sly then extracted some of the false pieces from the sidesword, using it to create a blue tripod of gears and other supports. He then slammed his right rapier on top of the tripod, and both structures began to shift, holding on to each other and adding another mechanism onto the guard of the rapier. Within a few seconds, Sly formed what appeared to be sniper rifle, and he aimed it at Minea. Now for the next step!

Just as the last wall was thrown, Sly pulled the trigger. With a series of loud clicks, 3 marbles were shot towards her. Midway towards her, they quickly expanded into hiltless daggers and spun their way towards her. If Minea dodged them, Sly would move the structure he was holding on to to face her and continue firing more marbles. To his right, another spell circle was forming in the air...

Post by Minea on Thu Feb 25, 2016 12:00 pm

Minea barely heard Sly talk over the sound of explosions wand walls crashing. She could tell that she had at least succeeded in her first task of giving this guy a good impression, and now that she was done with that, she could move on to her next objective: Actually training and improving. She heeded Sly's advice as she quickly planned her next attack.

Sly's weapon had created some sort of tripod and then formed a sniper rifle that quickly sent hiltless daggers spinning at her. She wondered once again what it was exactly that the weapon could do and just how far it could go. It seemed to be very versatile, having many forms, modes, and things it could build, but it was still rather hazy as to what it was or what it could do. Did it have a true form? And if it did then what would that true form look like? Maybe she should try pressuring him in different ways so he's be forced to use his weapon in new ways. Once she learned more about him and his weapon, she might be able to take him down easier. However, that would have to wait. For now she would needed to focus on the advice Sly had given her. After all she did come here for a reason, and that reason was not to beat this guy but to learn from him. He was defiantly worthy of being a teacher and not just a newbie with a bloated ego like she had thought he might be. She could trust this guy's advice and hopefully become a better warrior from it.

Her thought's were forced to stop as soon as they stared as the hiltless daggers were racing towards her. She threw a throwing knife at the ground a few feet in front of her, which caused another wall of earth to grow and shield her from the oncoming attack. From behind the wall she noticed some sort of...thing starting up beside Sly. Whatever this thing was, she knew that it couldn't be good. She decided to play it safe and created a line of these walls. From there she turned her weapon back into it's water mode and once again cut them all at the bottom. This time instead of flinging them one by one, she quickly jumped back and made a wide, horizontal slash, which flung all of them at Sly. this time instead of waiting to see if they hit him, she threw a knife at each one. They all impaled themselves inside the wall and quickly blew them up, causing a large and thick dust cloud to form on the far left side off the roof.

Minea them took out a plethora of her throwing knives and ran around the boarder of the while throwing some of the knives into the dust cloud at random intervals in random directions. This would serve to make sure Sly didn't know where she was. The throwing knives that she threw were a commination of element modes. All of them would track Sly down from wherever they were and continue perusing him until something stopped their journey, and they would also either explode, create an expanding ball of fire, or freeze whatever it first came into contact with. Minea made sure to stay on high alert as her attack began to play out as she still had no idea what that thing next to Sly would do.

The next phase of training was to test her understanding in protecting herself against an opponent’s attack. Though her attacks could use some work, it was certainly commendable to a lot of teachers out there in the Beyond. She had a barrier up to block out all the knives, which Sly predicted she would use. However, the woman did not stop there, as she used her defence as a weapon as well and lunged them towards him. Before Sly could reach for his sidesword however, Minea burst them into dust and coated most of the roof in its cloud.

It seemed she was to go all out against him. A knife whistled by and narrowly missed his cheek, followed by another. Then the same knives came around and spun towards him, like magpies provoked into attacking. Interesting kind of attack, he thought before pulling the sidesword out of the ground and slashed at the knives. Some of them exploded on him, others put a fine coat of ice on the weapon, making it heavier. To make things worse, the knives were flying towards him seemingly on all angles. Eventually she would have to run out of knives.

As Sly swung the blue sidesword around, colliding it with every knife, he betted on some of the knives to explode so that it would get rid of the ice. The weapon itself was beginning to change, glowing from all the false pieces it was gathering, like it was to overload at some point. As if it passed by a threshold, the weapon shifted. The entire length of the blade dividing into segments that curved, and the handle and guard burst, extending and pulling the blade further from Sly until it extended into a long pole.

A Scythe, which Sly named the Crescent Blue Moon. As he realised this, the segments of the blade began to smooth out into a fine curve. There were still a few gears here and there with almost little purpose than to give it a clockwork vibe. Sly swung Blue Moon around, which was a lot faster compared to a sidesword to knockout all the knives coming for him. But the dust cloud was starting to bite into his eyes.

From the spellcircle that Sly just summoned, a translucent grey potion bobbed out from the centre. He dislodged the sniper and slammed it against the potion, breaking it and turning the weapon silver and misty grey. Vibrating a bit, the sniper pulled in all the pieces from the tripod, as well as some additional pieces from Sly’s pocketwatch for its new form. After a brief moment, a huge gust burst from the weapon, attempting to blow back all of the dust, restoring Sly’s vision.

There, Sly could see Minea and how far she had run. In his right hand was the blue scythe, glowing silver and blue, almost reminiscent of the actual moon. The sniper rifle that broke the potion turned back into a rapier, floating behind him. As Sly walked towards Minea, the rapier shifted left and right, splitting into 10 identical grey rapiers, 5 on each side acting like his wings. Well, I guess you can say you are the first to see me use these two. Sly spun Blue Moon with both hands in the air, then turned a 360 spin before facing her in his battle pose, legs far apart and the scythe out on the side, the tip gleaming towards Minea. Let’s see what you can do now.

Post by Minea on Sun Feb 28, 2016 12:59 pm

Minea stood and watched the flash of colors that erupted throughout the dust cloud. She had a good feeling about that attack Sure it may not have been enough to get a hit on him, but it she was hopeful that it served it's purpose. Suddenly a gust of wind came hurting in all directions, eliminating the dust cloud from the roof entirely. She held her free arm in front of her eyes to avoid from any dust getting into them. When she lowered her arm and looked back where the dust could was she saw Sly holding a giant scythe with 5 floating rapiers on either side of him in the shape of wings. The only thing that came into her head was, Seriously? What can't this guys weapon do?! This thing better be his trump card, because if there's something else he has up his sleeve that's bigger than this I'm not too sure if I can handle that.

Sly moved his scythe in front of him and spoke to her. It appeared that she was the first one to see that. That sounded like good news. Maybe this was his trump card, and even if it wasn't she surly proved herself to be a strong warrior worthy of some respect. He had the courtesy to let her try and attack first. She wondered if she should continue to try and hit him with long range attacks with his new weapons. They might not be of any use right now, as he definitely had the capably to stop them. Even if that was the situation prior to his weapon change, now he had those floating swords, which she was sure could do long range attacks as well. If she went for a close up attack, she would have to deal with his scythe along with the floating swords. She just really needed to make sure that she wouldn't fall onto the defensive, but how could she do that?

Perhaps she could try to draw his swords out and then go in for a closer attack. If she did it right then she would only have to worry about his scythe. However, she would have a very small window off attack before she'd have to pull back out. The only way she could use this plan was to let him attack first, which was a very risky move. What if instead of attacking her with his swords he ran at her and attacked her with his scythe? What if he used something else she didn't know of or one of the long-range attacks he used earlier. There was absolutely no guarantee that her plan would work, but she felt like it was her only option.

She held her ground and stuck a pose herself, hoping to reveal none of her inner thoughts. "You've been far too kind this entire fight. What this is the second, maybe even third time you've just let me attack you now? I do appreciate the kindness, so I might as well show my appreciation by giving you the same opportunity right now. After all, you must be itching to use that weapon if no one else has been strong enough to force you to use it yet." She said her words with a mix of "genuineness" and sassiness. After her words she prepared both her body and mind for whatever may come next, whether that be an immediate attack or a short exchange of words before an attack.

(Edit: 2END PAGE YEAH! Also, I was talking to my sister, who also is on this site, and she pointed out that it wouldn't be very fair if a whole group of people would have to fight against Korosu in order to win in the Major Villain plot and then have Sly single-handedly take her out in this roleplay. So, Korosu will come out for a bit, they'll fight, but then Minea will take back control. She'll probably be really tired afterwards, so that will mark the end of the fight. We can still have them talk about things after that if we want. Does that sound good to you?)

Post by sLy on Sun Feb 28, 2016 8:56 pm

It felt weird when he forced himself to draw Blue Moon out after what was probably like a thousand year slumber. The feeling was rather exciting, like a muscle that was stretched after waiting just as long, if his mind ever had muscles. They were around 15metres apart from one another again. The rooftop was in tatters, with small craters and bits of rubble here and there. If anyone were left alive in the criminal gang of this building, they would have clambered their way up here to see what was going on. Blue Moon in combination with the wind element of his rapiers were rather unorthodox but he had worked with just the two before. If only he could remember the old days of witch hunting.

Sly remained in his battle pose, waiting for Minea to finish analyzing his weapons. He figured if this was a real fight, he would have marched forward and attempted to catch her off-guard. But since this was really just the basics, Sly had to remain firm not to exploit this yet. Blue Moon appeared to be a large and heavy scythe. It was actually just as light as a sidesword and very durable, but by no mean could Sly quickly recover from a swing. A miss would leave himself wide open, and that was when the rapiers on his back come to play. Altogether, they provided a huge advantage for close quarters fighting, but Sly somewhat worried if the two together would be too overpowering for her.

This time, Minea granted Sly the honours of striking first. Sly snorted, passing a small smirk. Normally he wouldn't like accepting it, as it meant Minea was controlling the situation, with Sly supposing to be her teacher. Then again, they were already on to the second phase of training, and that was to assess how well could Minea defend herself. As such, there was not much thought required.

My pleasure, Sly said, running forward, scythe pulled back. He made sure he looked the part in making a generic and predictable frontal attack towards her, but in reality, it was a trick. Just when Sly closed 8metres, he suddenly twirled the pole around, and the scythe faced the other way. Accordingly, Sly jumped forward a little and turned, spinning towards where the scythe was pointing, attempting a diagonal slash. When his back was turned, the silver rapiers straightened and, spinning along with Sly's back, pointed their blades out and slashed Minea like a disc of 10 blades passing through her.

Hoping to strike before she could recover from the surprise, Sly's spin came around and Blue Moon's blade slashed across her chest in a very wide and huge sweep. The scythe itself left a large trail on the path it took, resembling exactly like what its full name depicted, a crescent blue moon. If Minea managed to block or avoid it, Sly would spin again, this time carrying with his next swing the momentum from the last, making them faster and a lot more powerful. Sly was interested to see how she would react to his barrage.

Re: Sly's Training (Part 1) [PRIVATE - Sly + Minea]

Post by Minea on Tue Mar 01, 2016 12:01 pm

Minea waited in anticipation to see what Sly's first move would be. She kept on her toes to easily move from position to position better and made sure to keep her eyes focused on Sly and every little detail surrounding it. He started by pulling back his scythe and running at her. Perhaps he still felt bad for attacking first, so he decided to make his first attack an easy one to counter. However when he began to near her she noticed his hands shifting, moving his scythe, and his midsection turn, indicating that he was about to follow it.

All in one quick thought she analyzed where Sly was, what he was doing, and what course would be the best for her to take. She stepped backward, hardly moving out of the way in time to dodge the swords and then prepared herself for the front end of Sly's attack. She didn't want to be kept on the defensive, at least not fully, so she turned her sword both red hot and on fire at the same time. As she brought her sword to her right side, she also activated her wind element, sending a small slash of flames foreword in the size and shape of her swords movement. (Left hand waist-ish to right hand shoulder-ish.) She blocked his attacked and allowed her body to move back slightly in order to absorb the blow and give her some kinetic energy to use for whatever she may need it for.

As soon as she successfully blocked his first attack, he came spun again, but this time with more speed and power. This time in order to dodge it she did a back handspring, with her front body bending back just in time to miss the first side of the blades and her legs following in the thin space of time she had before the second side of blades slashed at her.  As he came around to slash the space right in front of her, she quickly sent out a throwing knife that impaled itself in the ground. It could hardly finish it's job of creating a wall before Sly's finished his spin and hit the wall, making it crumble to pieces. She had put this wall up in the first place to hopefully give her a little time and allow her somewhat of an element of surprise as to her next move.

She activated her swords water ability without turning off the fire abilities to create a fire "whip". She flung this through the rubble on the falling wall and towards Sly's scythe, trying to get a hold of Sly's weapon. If she did she would quickly tug sideways on it and would hopefully send it flying out of Sly's hands or send Sly flying with it. However, she made sure to prepare for what might potentially happen by holding one of her throwing knives at the ready with her left hand. It wasn't the best when it came to melee with big weapons, but it might be enough to give her an edge. Once she was finished with her move she said, "What happened to varying your attacks, huh? This is the first time I see you truly try to attack me and you do the thing you criticized me for. I guess I'm not the only one that still has a lot of work to do."

(I am drawing all knowledge from sports, my own experience with sword play, fight scenes I've watched, and many more to write and come up with things. This topic is really good with forcing me to think of how her weapon/fighting style works and develop it. Yay! I really needed to do that with her new stuff.)

He started off with the basic barrage, and it did not land a sure hit on Minea. That was good, at least in a sense that he did not go overboard by bringing Blue Moon out. The first slash from the wings of blades missed, and Blue Moon was blocked once. Due to the sheer mass of the weapon, a loud chime echoed over the roof and the power behind the slash broke the lock, allowing him to spin around and slash again. This one missed, but he did hit something hard. Before him, she had thrown a knife and the wall it summoned broke prematurely, almost sending dust everywhere but none getting into his eyes.

Within seconds, a whip of water emerged and roped around Blue Moon. Sly tugged on it, but it seemed Minea had the upper hand and pulled it off to the side. Sly kept his grip on the pole and, manipulating his wings of blades, they spun around him and slashed the water rope off. He quickly activated the wings' ability to manipulate the wind and they slowed Sly a bit after being thrown off, and veered him around and back towards Minea, much like real wings. What makes you think I am fighting full on? After saying that, Sly readied Blue Moon and, guided by the wind, spun like a disc towards her. Blue Moon hummed when he did this, generating a glowing blue shield around him from any retaliation, while the wings of blades continued to spin around him and generated a heavy gust.

If Sly's attack missed, which he somewhat expected, he would land on his feet 5metres from her, skidding back a bit. He would then slash at Minea with Blue Moon diagonally, then twirl the scythe around to slash her again, forming a large X. After completing it, he would then perform a spinning attack on her again, his mind manipulating the wings of blades in the same time to disconnect, point and speed towards her like 10 rapiers diving at her one by one. These blades would then attempt to busy her for a few seconds, as they were controlled telepathically to attack her even if they were parried, while Sly bring his scythe up overhead and attempt a finisher, slamming Blue Moon down on where she was with a loud thud.

Post by Minea on Sun Mar 06, 2016 9:14 am

Minea was happy to see that her attack successfully grabbed onto Sly's scythe, but before she could do anything it was severed. She mentally cursed, but was forced to quickly turn her attention towards sly. He used his wings to get his balance back and gave her a statement which carried within it a challenge. He flew towards her while rapidly spinning and a blue shield gathered around him. In one brief moment she weighed her options and decided that it would be best to get out of the way. She weighted until he was close enough to be unable to change his course, and then jumped out of the way.

Before she had any time to react Sly was already slashing at her with his scythe. She quicly turned off any abilities she was using on her sword, brought her sword up, and held the flat end towards herself. Then she placed her left hand on the far side of the blade away from the hilt just in time for Sly's scythe to hit it with incredible force. Her arms and legs bent a bit as they absorbed the shock, which caused a twinge of pain to travel across her whole body, but regardless she stayed firm. She had been though things had had caused her a lot more pain than this very often and as the saying goes, no pain no game. She held this pose for Sly's second slash, which caused another wave of pain to flow over her body.

He quickly turned this attack into once of the spinning attacks from earlier. The only difference in this one being that instead of the blades maintain their wing structure they were in more of a line that attacked without any gap in-between. She backed up to avoid Sly's swords but she knew that if she did make it that it would be a close call, so she turned her blade to block this attack just in case. This move proved to be worth it as she couldn't get out of the way in time. The swords clashed with her and sent her flying sideways, as she didn't have the correct footing to absorb the blow as she did for Sly's previous attacks.

She tumbled on the ground for a brief second, before pushing herself up with her hands and landing on her feet, sliding a bit before she got rid of all of her momentum. The moment she recovered there were already all ten of Sly's swords coming at her. She skillfully blocked each one, causing it to fly in some other direction, but they swiftly turned and came back at her again. For a few curtail seconds she was locked in combat with these blades, parrying one only to look around to he one coming up behind her, blocking that one, and continuing the process. They were coming at her from all directions so she had to constantly monitor all 360 degrees around her.

One of the tings she noticed while she was doing this was that Sly was running at her, Scythe at the ready. They both jumped at the same time, Sly to attempt his finisher and Minea to dodge it. She landed on one of the swords, immediately causing it to try and turn towards her and attack her again. She rode it as it turned up and activated her swords earth attack as the main attack and added in the fire attack as her sub attack. She then flung an onslaught of flaming earth diamonds at Sly, each about the size of her forearm and hand. The rest of the floating rapiers were still heading strait for her, so she jumped onto the first one to try and attack her. While on this one she changed her main weapon to air and kept fire as the sub and flung several columns of fire to rush at Sly.

She knew that as soon as he noticed what she was doing that he would probably change his attack to something else, so she jumped onto another floating rapier that would get her in just the position she wanted. She then flung herself off using both the momentum from the rapier and a backwards wind gust she made herself, causing her to fly foreword with incredible speed. She turned her sword back to it fire mode and began to spin vertically, forming a ring of fire around her. Whatever she would end up hitting with her sword would be engulfed in a blast of fire. She then continued with a barrage of slashes that would each cause another blast of fire to emerge when it landed.

The finisher met nothing but the rooftop as the blade easily sunk halfway into it. Lucky for him, the floating rapiers kept her busy, and he had all the time in the world to dislodge his weapon and recover. Despite its huge size, standing slightly over Sly's height, Blue Moon was not at all heavy, and took just a jerk or two before he could pull it out.

Minea was rather nimble for a fighter. Not only was she able to block an attack from all directions, but could spare enough room in her mind to watch for Sly's final attack. Then again, women were better multi-taskers. If she were any ordinary fighter, she would have fallen by now. To Sly, after analyzing her to this point, Minea was perhaps a balanced fighter, capable in both close ranged and long ranged combat, as well as magic and pure physical strength. Against those like her, they were pretty hard to defeat if they knew how to train to cover all their weaknesses. The only problem Sly could think of and presume for those following such a path was that they do not excel in anything. In his previous years as a bounty hunter, Sly dealt with those like Minea by overwhelming them. The techniques he used included having to use his Anti-Life fire element. But that was only for moments where he wanted sure kill of his targets. Why would he want to kill his pupil?

Sly gritted his teeth a little. His tactics were limited without the use of fire.

As for Minea, she tried to land on one of the floating rapiers. It was no good, especially since the rapiers were only held up by wind and they themselves could not support the weight of a human. When she jumped onto the next, the rapier below her had disintegrated but rebuilt itself together once the weight was off. After encasing her sword in fire and earth, she retaliated in the air by, with one swing of her sword, sending shards of burning earth towards him.

It was too obvious. Surely she knew what Blue Moon could do to defend him. Sly lifted the scythe and slashed the area of space between him and the incoming shards. As if he tore through space itself, the blue line which he slashed 'opened up' and spread, until it looked like an upside-down crescent blue moon. This shield began to glow and chime, as the shards pattered against the surface like raindrops in a calm pond. Sly also stepped back a bit, knowing that some would over and under shoot the shield and get by, as they landed harmlessly near his feet.

When the last shard fell, Sly hooked the end of this shield with Blue Moon and, with a wide swing, hurled it like a boomerang towards Minea. As he did, he telekinetically manipulated the floating rapiers in attempt to seal off any direction which Minea would dodge, forming a ring behind her. If she, for example, dodged left, the set of rapiers to the left of the ring would speed forward and strike.

When he did so, Minea had started sending cones of fire towards Sly. Sly had a lot of lead to react, especially now that they were around 10-15metres apart. Swiftly he side-stepped from one cone, spun back from the other and continued to 'dance' around the rooftop to avoid the flames. On two occasions did he use the flat part of Blue Moon to shield the flames from him.

And finally she performed a spin attack towards him, with the shield still in mid-flight towards her. It connected but rebound off in another location, perhaps deflecting her off in a slightly different direction. Even with how fast she was approaching, Sly presumed he could just dodge her. As he stepped away, he brought Blue Moon into her path and, upon connection, Minea rushed passed him and Sly almost spun off-balance on the spot. His scythe was thrown off to the side as well, the front bit covered in flames but was quickly diminished thanks to its water element.

Carrying the momentum from the knockback, Sly met against her barrage of slashes with his slices. Thanks to this, he was able to keep up with her, though he was still on the defensive. Then he swung at her, making sure to lock his blade against hers for just a split second before swinging and hurling her blade off to the side, exposing her to his attacks. Even if she did not let go of her sword and managed to block his next swing in time, Sly had gained the tempo and relentlessly slashed at her using the momentum he gathered. Sometimes he did figure 8's in front of her, and sometimes a full spin attack, striking her either towards the head or down at her legs. However she responded, he would keep her busy...

...at least until the floating rapiers arrived to assist him as they came around on all sides and lunged towards them.

Post by Minea on Sun Mar 27, 2016 12:19 pm

Minea succeeded at least for the time being on not being on the defensive, but she was nowhere near beating Sly. She was throwing all she had at the guy in both battle tactics and attacks, but she could tell that there was something that he wasn't using. Why not she couldn't be sure. Maybe he thought she wasn't up for the challenge or maybe it was some other unknown reason. Her attacks were easy to block/dodge for him and his attacks were constantly straining her in some way. At this rate the battle might be ending soon. Part of her was okay with that, because she knew that she more than proved herself but another part of her wouldn't give in to loose and kept her fighting spirit alight.

She jumped off of the last disintegrating rapier and did a spin attack towards Sly, who blocked it and negated her fire effects all while preparing for his next attack. She hurried to get her last barrage of slashes in before Sly was fully ready but as soon as she finished, she knew she had made a mistake. She should've drawn back. She was at an extreme disadvantage in close range even if she was rather comfortable at the art. She had trained long and hard by herself, learned of her weaknesses, and corrected them, but all that training could not force her body to move at superhuman speed to block multiple attacks at once, even if she had trained herself to be able to spot all of them.

Soon Sly was able to get off of the defensive and back onto the offensive. They locked blades for a second and she looked deep into Sly's eyes with a look or sheer tenacity and determination. In the brief second they locked blades she was able to get herself in a good enough position that allowed her to keep a hold of her sword when Sly hurled it to the side. She normally would have a better position in situations like these, but Sly's scythe allowed him to use more power than her sword did, putting her in even more of a disadvantage.

He hurled his blade back at her hardly giving her the time necessary to block it and within seconds the tables had turned, only she was having a noticeable harder time than Sly. She continued to block Sly's attacks as they got increasingly harder and faster the best she could. In what little time she had she tried to look for an escape route, but instead of giving her any new ideas this just gave her new problems. Sly's rapiers were coming back at her and fast. If she didn't do anything about it then she would be skewered in several places.

She waited for as long as she could for a good opening, but none came so at the last second, she was forced to make a tough decision. She glanced both at Sly and the rapiers and hastily got her body in the position that would land her the least damage. As soon as everything was timed and aligned perfectly, she turned her sword in a direction that would no longer block Sly's attack and dodged it by the hair on her head. As soon as her sword was in the right position she propelled herself backwards and towards one of the floating rapiers. She met it before it and all of the rest of them were able to meet her in the heart of the battle. There were other rapiers very close to her as she flew in the air that almost struck her, but only one of them did her any harm. She would feel it tearing into her flesh and setting a warm liquid running all over the unharmed parts of her left arm.

She soon landed on her feet a fair distance from Sly and investigated her wounds. It was nothing she couldn't live with and far less worse than many of the other injuries she has sustained in battle inside and out. However, it might be enough to hinder her if she needed to use both of her arms, which she had no doubt that she would have to do. She wondered for a brief second if Sly would call off the battle since she got her first bit of battle damage or if he would continue on to test both her endurance and pain threshold. It didn't seem to her like he would be the type to stop a battle after only a little blood was spilt, but yet again she could've judged wrong. After all she did hardly know the guy, and Perhaps there was something else she did not know that would factor into his decision. Maybe after the battle was over they'd finally get to the small talk and she could learn a little bit about him. Although he would probably want to learn a little about herself and her life as well, which could cause her some problems.

She stood herself up and prepared herself for her next attack when her head throbbed, causing her vision to blur and for her to lose her balance for a split second. She stumbled, but caught herself with her sword as her vision returned to her. She tried to continue on with her attack, but she was interrupted once again by her head throbbing. This time the pain in her head lasted longer and she fell to her knees. NO! This wasn’t happening. Not here. Not now. She placed her left hand over her left eyes and clawed it. Her vision in her other eye was still blurry and seemed to have a shadow cast over everything that was the most thick at the edges of her vision. She clawed her left eye harder, drawing blood that ran down from her face and gave the illusion that she might be crying.

She thought of all the times that this had happened before and let a wave of anger consume her. She tried to hold onto this feeling for as long as she could, but quickly another one was growing inside of her. One that was not her own. She soon realised that she would not be winning this battle and let her anger turn into desperation, fear, and anguish. She dropped her sword, which she had been using to hold herself up, and hardly caught herself with her right hand. Through the blurred mess she could just barely tell that she was staring at the floor.

She used a large portion of her remaining energy and fighting spirit to lift up her head towards Sly and weakly exclaim to him, “Please, run. I don’t want to hurt you.” Although she was staring right at Sly, she couldn't make him out. She tried to listen for any sort of response, but it seemed to her that a dead silence had fallen upon the world. Thinking the she had still not convinced Sly to leave she continued. “If you’re wondering what’s happening then leave and I’ll explain it to you when you're still alive.” The other feeling whelmed up inside of her and clashed greatly with her own. At the moment neither was winning so the words she spoke were monotone. “Just go. I don’t want to hurt anybody else.” Those last words gradually got quieter as Minea felt an overwhelming fatigue come over her mind and body. She felt herself fall to the ground and let go of her left eye. She hardly noticed herself hitting the floor with her bloodied left arm and hand laying beside her as she fell into the depths of a vivid dream.

Slowly Korosu opened her eyes to find herself laying in a small pool of blood. It had seemed that Minea had taken some damage from something earlier. She moved her arms and began to pick herself up, but her head stayed fixated on the floor. Once she was on “her” feet she held her left wrist with her right hand and moved her left hand, checking to see how well it worked. The hand was good, but it seemed that the arm was weakened by whatever damage had been inflicted earlier. She finally lifted her head to see what lay ahead of her to see a man standing across from her with a scythe and floating rapiers, one of which had Minea’s blood on it. As she looked at the man her eyes seemed to glow a bright violet.

Korosu moved and stretched other parts of Minea’s body to see what shape they were in as she began to talk. “Ah. It’s been such a long time since Minea was nice enough to let me out. I almost forgot what it was like, the feeling of wind against your skin, the sun shining on your back. I really did miss this, but not for those reasons. I miss the people. They were always so...entertaining. The way they screamed for help and begged for mercy as I ripped their guts right out of their body was just so enjoyable! The looks they gave me with their sad, broken face after I had just killed one of their loved ones in, oh too many ways to remember is something I’ve been longing to see again for a long time now!”

She finally brought her attention to Sly and addressed him directly. “Hello! I see you were in the middle of fighting, and you managed to do a decent amount of damage. Might I ask why you guys were fighting? Oh, let me guess. Your son stole bread from her and so got angry and beat the poor kid until he didn’t even know his own name.” She only paused for a brief moment before continuing. “No, that can’t be it. You’re too young to have a child, aren't you? Hmm...Maybe SHE was trying to steal something from YOU! What I don’t know. Food maybe? No, she can get that by herself most of the time pretty easily. OH I KNOW what you were annoying her so badly that she tried to kill you. She does that a lot actually. If that’s true then I thank you. I don’t like it much when she’s happy. In fact, I don’t like it much when nobody's happy. Oh, but don’t think that means I like you in any way. I’ll still kill you just like I do with everybody else. Although, maybe I’ll let you choose how you die, but of course not until after I break you into a million blubbering pieces. Heck, you’ll be lucky if you still know what death is by the time I’m done with you. Minea started this fight and I’ll more than gladly finish it.”

She ignored Minea’s sword and lifted her right arm so that it was parallel with the ground. As soon as she did so five purple, glowing plasma swords appeared over her head. “Compliments on your weapon by the way. It does seem to be very interesting, but just so you know, mine’s better. MUCH better. I won’t allow a little copy cat like you to roam around and pretend you’re all that when in reality you're just another bug that needs to be squashed. I bet your ego was blown up a bit by the way things were going in this little battle of yours. Minea did always regard herself to be a good fighter and here you are overpowering her like it’s nothing.”

She looked at left arm for a second before looking back at Sly. “Or, at least that’s how I assume things were going. Minea never was too terribly hard to beat. Yet again, nobody really is. I find it really annoying, actually. People just don’t like to admit to themselves their true place. I bet you’re one of those people as well. You’ll go about bragging about how strong you are, how you’ll beat me or never give up blah blah blah, and then you’ll end up dying just like everyone else. And with hardly a fight as well. I’ve never really had a fight where I felt particularly challenged or might lose. But I have had some that were entertaining, at least. I hope that you’ll be one of those. Of course, I would like to get down to business and start slaughtering people, but I get the chance to do that whenever I come out. It’s not nearly as often that I get the chance to fight in an engaging battle. So, let’s do this thing, shall we? And try not to disappoint.”

She made even more floating swords around her and sent them to attack and busy Sly’s floating swords while she went in for the attack. She made sure to keep the five floating swords above her as she ran towards Sly, just in case she might need them. She lifted her right arm to her side this time and created a purple plasma scythe just a few inches from the palm of her hand. This she manipulated to move as if she was holding it as she slashed at Sly with incredible speed and power. She moved from this move to her next flawlessly and super fast, it was almost as if she was attacking twice in one motion. She spun around behind Sly, allowing the hilt of the scythe to head directly towards Sly’s stomach. Once she was behind him, she vertically slashed at him. Then she spun her scythe until it was only a round blur and slashed at him parallel to the ground. Following that with a slash that went from her lower right hand side to her upper left hand side.

Post by sLy on Wed Mar 30, 2016 3:02 pm

    (Oh gourd the post!)

Fighting him with Blue Moon activated was perhaps tricky, but to fight him this close was perhaps suicide. Of course, a scythe would carry with it more power than a mere sword, if in the right hands. Within a few swings, and a few rounds of parrying against Minea, he was overpowering her. Yet there was no room for him to finish this, not without completely exposing himself to a counter. But her defences were falling apart. It was not too soon before Sly guessed that this form was far too much for her to handle. But before he could think of an alternative, Minea suddenly…stopped blocking.

He faltered a bit, and he could blame that moment for a very narrow miss against an open opportunity. Then he understood why. The rapiers were here. Sly stayed his ground and watched as she daringly jumped towards those rapiers. One of them, it seemed, managed to strike her directly in the arm and spilled blood onto the roof. Minea landed back on the roof safely on her feet before investigating that wound. If this were a real witch hunt, Sly would not have been so generous to offer a quick respite. But this was suppose to be training, yet he drew blood from his own pupil. Sly kept his grip on Blue Moon tight, and brought all his rapiers back behind him, organising themselves into wings, with one blade on his right ‘wing’ dripping with her blood. There he waited, to see what she was going to do next. Would she want to end this now? Or would she continue? It was a complete mystery, but they were no longer following his routine of basic training.

As he waited, he gritted his teeth. He went overboard this time, and he was going to pay for it. Without the use of her arm, she would not be at her most optimal condition to fight. Sly could easily take advantage of that and defeat her. He supposed he should treat her first, maybe enjoy a quick break doing so, before continuing where they left of. Smiling, Sly released one hand from Blue Moon and took a step forward. In that moment, Minea was standing up, her pose telling him that she was ready to continue.

Then she quickly stumbled onto the ground. At first, Sly thought she was a bit dizzy after their hectic first round, or perhaps she tripped on the now uneven rooftop. But then she just stayed there. No. Something was definitely wrong. He wanted to run to her. To drop everything and at least see if she was alright. Her look stopped him quickly. There was pain in that expression, but something else as well. Fear? Her eye, turning red and bleeding before him, and Sly could see how well she had clawed into it. It was frightening on first glance. Before he could ponder, Minea, staring right through him, demanded him to leave and offered to explain everything afterwards…

    …if he was still alive?

It was not like he could leave anyways when she suddenly dropped onto the ground. After a brief moment, like nothing had happened, she was up again. Minea… no, that did not look like her. Her eyes turned purple, and that stern look turned to what seemed to be a… rather volatile expression. Sly just remained still as she reassessed that wound. Then she dropped into quite a speech about being free and breaking others, literally and figuratively, in some unsightly and horrible manner. She asked him a question, but quickly went on a list of guesses to determine why they were fighting in the first place. So she did not know. That was perhaps understandable for someone possessing another’s body.

Sly did in fact remember this…woman. He fought against her before, though he could not quite recollect what happened back then. It involved him having backup. He even needed to involve One and Gojira in that fight. She had to be very strong indeed. Sly spun Blue Moon around in front of him, twirling it before letting it spin on one arm instead and, as he grabbed it, placed it behind him, close to his back. The blade rested onto the ground, ready to come up front again if ever need be. I was wondering when you would show yourself again.

She then went on to talk about his weapon. A copycat? Of course it was a copycat type of weapon! It could mould into anything Sly desired. And then she went on to talk about his bloated ego, which was untrue, and how she could kill him, and think he had some bragging rights to begin with…

So much credibility was lost from her ongoing speech that Sly just raised an eyebrow, zoning out from what she was saying. He just waited for her to restart the fight. Then I guess it takes just one bug like me to beat you. Sly lifted Blue Moon with both hands again and prepared it for a rush towards her, the blade out and pointing towards his target. A word of advice. Know your place, yourself. I would not open that big mouth of yours if you know little of your opponent.

This woman summoned purple floating blades, like the last time they fought. Using them, she kept Sly’s floating rapiers occupied, but they were far outnumbered. She still had five, close behind her, and she was rushing forward already. In her hand, she formed a scythe, much like his own, and Sly connected his scythe with hers. Only this time, their power was quite matched. At least for a split second until this woman went absolute lunatic and broke this lock to strike again, within the second she made first contact. His block was perhaps lucky, but as he thought of that, the shaft of her scythe was already heading for his stomach. As if by instinct, he blocked it with the shaft of his own and, realising the woman had moved behind him, he quickly spun Blue Moon behind him, their blades connecting once again. The force of such added to his need to run forward and distance himself, and he felt a mild sting on his back as he was slashed.

Sly recovered quickly, standing 3metres away and turning to her before blocking her diagonal slash. The impact of such pushed him a further 5metres back, and Sly jumped back so he was now 13metres. His back flared again, but it was more of a sting. He knew he was cut. It was shallow at least and nothing too serious, hopefully not or it would be well into his spine.

This was no longer training… but an execution.

Sly relaxed his pose and stood up straight. It was clear that his current weapons were outmatched. Seeing how she struck with the scythe, it was a lot lighter. He would need another one of his potions if he were to balance the field. With that thought, another spell circle appeared, this one on the ground in front of him. A brown and green potion floated up and bobbed. Slowly he released the grip of Blue Moon with one hand and extended it out, his timepiece reacting to form another rapier in its. When it was done, Sly extended the blade towards the woman, then flipped it around so it was pointing towards the potion.

I may not have my friends with me, Sly said, releasing the rapier and let it pierce the potion. It sunk into the ground, like suddenly the roof had become water, and the whole surface stretched across every corner of it, filling it with a green glow and emitting harmless green wisps of light like fireflies. But I did not become one of Dragonstorm for nothing. Just as he finished the last word, he tensed his exposed hand. The rapier sprung up from under the ground and into his grip again, only this time, the rapier had turned brown, adorned with elegant green curves that ended in spades, like they were branches and leaves that slightly stuck out from the base.

Sly rolled it around until the blade was pointing towards the woman. If she were to look around, more of these rapiers would slowly start to rise from the roof on random locations, rooted and waiting to be used. If she tried to pull one of them, it would be rooted like a tree. Yes, they would only be wielded by Sly.

    Let’s dance.

Minea “woke up” in what appeared to be the old, abandoned ruins of a city. She slowly lifted herself off of the ground and onto her feet. It was dark and cloudy. She wasn’t sure if it was nighttime or just about to rain. A cold breeze blew her hair behind her and made her realise that her weapons were gone. She looked around for them for them for a few seconds before she realised where she was. This wasn’t just any old city, it was her hometown. The memories were hazy, but she could still make out a few landmarks. It seemed like this was somewhere in between her old house and her old school. The wind blew again, but this time with a little more vigor, as if it wanted her to go to her old school. She started walking and soon found herself weaving around curves in the same way she did so long ago. It seemed that her body still remembered which way to go even if her mind didn’t.

Soon she arrived at the school to find it’s front door completely gone. The wind blew on her back once more, making her rub her arms for warmth and bringing a few leaves tumbling about in the hallway of the school. She slowly entered it and passed a few closed doors to classrooms until she reached the stairs. A cool draft seemed to be coming from them, warning her not to go forward, but she ignored it and went anyway. There were many classrooms in this building that she had been in, but she was drawn to one in particular. Inside it looked like a normal classroom with many desks for students and one big one in the front of the room for the teacher. The only thing different from normal was a steel wall in the front of the room behind the teacher’s desk broken open by something with incredible strength. A red liquid oozed out of it and began to fill the bottom of the room. At first it was just a small dribble, but it soon grew into a river and filled the entire classroom in a thin sheet. The thin sheet only continued to grow as Minea walked closer to the steel wall.

When she passed the hole and entered the hidden room before it all went black. She looked behind her to find the exit sealed off. The only thing she could do was wait for her eyes to adjust to the dark. Eventually a room about half the size of the classroom revealed itself. She took a step forward and stepped on something wet and squishy. She looked down to find that she had stepped on someone's detached, lacerated arm. She covered her nose as suddenly the smell of blood and decaying bodies overpowered her nose. The mixture of what she could only assume was blood and other body parts that covered the floor glowed and revealed several dead bodies, all of which were dismembered in some horrible way. One boy had his own leg plunged into his stomach and his foot, still with his shoe on, shoved into his mouth. Another Had their eyelids, nose, and ears cut off and their eyes gouged out. She backed over to a wall and passed a girl with half of her head crushed into the floor and a boy with his ribcage open and showing an empty cavity. She closed her eyes and shook her head as if that would tear her away from this room, but when she opened her eyes she was still there. This time her eyes laid on someone else, herself. Her eyes were gouged out and running down her face as if they were tears, she was impaled in pressure points all over the body, and her torso was stabbed so many times that it began to lose its shape.

She tried to scream, but her body moved closer to her clone and nealed over it.  Soon the room began to spin and disorient her greatly. The next clar thing that happened was the sound of footsteps. At first they didn’t bother her but as they got closer and closer, louder and louder, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of panic grow. Once the footsteps were right next to her they stopped, and only then could she open her eyes. She found herself laying on the floor where the corpse of herself was just seconds ago and looking up at herself. However something was wrong with this version of herself. Her eyes were glowing a bright purple and displaced a deep desire of bloodshed.

She could only scream when the purple-eyed version of her started to stab her pressure points with bright purple knives that burned her flesh. She tried to get up and run away, but her body wouldn't move at all. Soon the the purple-eyed version of herself finished stabbing her pressure points and moved onto her eyes. Quickly any sort of distraction vision had granted her vanished and she would only focus on the overwhelming pain that flowed through her whole body. It felt as if someone was slowly tearing her body apart with flames. Her torso was next up on the list of things to be destroyed. At first it felt as if a heated thread of pain was being woven into her stomach, lungs, kidneys, intestines, and just about every single other orgon you could think of, but then it all turned numb. She could still feel a great heated fizzing throughout her torso, but it was no longer sharp. Soon this feeling faded as well as her mind and every single one of her senses went blank.

A hazy vision of her falling and landing on a pile of something flooded her mind. Through the haze she could barely make out that the pile was other versions of her that all all died in different, but equally horrible ways. A laughed echoed in her brain as her mind and body returned to how it was before she had this vision.
